A wet dispersion unit is a closed liquid circuit in where the sample can be added either as a dry powder or also as a suspension and is continuously transported during the measurement.
The wet dispersion is suitable for almost all materials which do not dissolve in liquid. The advantage compared to the dry dispersion is the higher efficiency and greater flexibility of the dispersion process and the mostly very simple and comfortable handling.
A high performance, adjustable radial pump allows the entire circuit to be moved completely more than ten times per minute. This high performance pump allows the transport of even larger particles, even with a high density for example tungsten carbide, and promotes a fast end even distribution of the sample material in the entire circuit, which is an advantage for a stable measurement. Additionally, the high performance pump supports the degradation of the particle agglomerates so an additional agitator is not necessary in the wet dispersion unit of the ANALYSETTE 22 MicroTec plus.
For the degradation of the strongly bound agglomerates the utilization of ultrasonic is necessary.
The performance of the integrated ultrasonic emitter can be adjusted with the software MaS control just like the duration of an individual- or between two consecutive measurements.
The wet dispersion unit consists of a closed liquid circuit with a volume of approximately 300, 400 or 500 ml, which can be adjusted via software.
The free programmability of the entire dispersion process allows a specific and exact reproducible dispersion of even difficult sample materials.
Besides simple parameters like pump speed and ultrasonic-intensity in the SOPs can complex dispersion cycles with user-defined pauses, several consecutive measurements and of course automatic rinsing and refilling of the dispersion unit be defined.
If necessary enables the cartridge design a fast and simple cleaning of the measuring cell: Hereby the cartridge is simply removed from the shaft of the measuring unit, taken apart within a few minutes, cleaned and assembled again.
The entire dispersion unit consists of high-quality materials. Materials parts in contact with the sample circuit consist of stainless steel, PTFE, BK7-glass and norprene®-hoses. So basically the most common organic solvents may be used in the wet dispersion unit.
Ideally for the wet dispersion unit is a connection to an existing fresh and waste water supply (10 mm adapter), whereas a fully automatic rinsing of the system after a measurement becomes possible. The rinsing routine, as well as the desired amount of liquid to be filled into the unit, can be adjusted via the MaS control software.
If a sufficient water supply at the working station for the unit does not exist, then with the 24 V adapter of the dispersion unit, an external pump can be utilised to pump the liquid from a separate tank into the dispersion unit.
In order to use the FRITSCH Wet Dispersion Unit you will need the ANALYSETTE 22 MicroTec plus Measuring Unit (Order No. 22.8400.00).
